Picasso on Richmond, Toronto. Award: Toronto's Best Tall Building 2016. Extending from the podium is a tower punctuated by white and grey volumes that shift outward. These are accentuated by a dramatic red cut creating a dynamic sculptural form. The many terrace roofs are planted with gardens, each with unique attributes. The cumulative impact is to create a vertical landscape, an abstracted reference to the natural form of a mountain. The first three storeys at the base of the building contain retail and commercial spaces. The floors above the retail include 402 residential units that range from studios to three bedroom suites.
