Bahrain WTC, Manama. The three 29m diameter, 225kW commercial wind turbines are supported by the three skybridges that link the two towers. These turbines, which total to 675kW of wind power capacity and are expected to provide 11% to 15% of the towers' total power consumption, are aligned north along the direction from which air from the Persian Gulf blows in. Furthermore, the two buildings have the shape of a sail, so that wind is forced and accelerated through the gap where the turbines are to maximize power production. The total power generated by the turbines, which are expected to operate in average 50% of the time everyday, is the equivalent to the power required to light up about 250 hospitals.
